OEL Directive


Directive 98/24/EC of 7 April 1998 provides the drawing up of indicative and binding Occupational Exposure Limit (OEL)  values  on the protection and safety of workers from the risk of chemical agents at work.



In Europe, there are two types of occupational exposure limits for chemical agents:

EU community exposure limits specified  in directives updated regularly

and National exposure limits. almost 1 800 hazardous substances are listed in free database GESTIS: International occupational exposure limit values for chemical agents

Azierta OELs and API categorization

In parallel to each API PDE  Azierta toxicological experts provides the API categorization trough a scientific base evaluation consisting on:

  • Bibliographic search to review all the relevant information related to the API.
  • OEL Determination following international and widely accepted guidelines.
  • Categorization for the specific work conditions of any laboratory according with the National requirements or Safebridge banding scheme.
